St Thomas More School & Sixth Form College Website
Dear Parents and Carers
Our school community has gathered together twice this week in two ways that reflect well on our ethos. On Wednesday we had Sports Day which took place in a spirit of healthy competition and enthusiastic support. There were a number of school records broken on the day which is always exciting to hear.
Today we will have a Mass of celebration to mark the feast day of our patron St Thomas More which will remind the pupils of the importance of the spiritual dimension in their lives and how we strive to build our community on a daily basis on the principle of doing good as often as possible and following Our Lord’s instruction to love one another as he loves us. In the hurly burly of education it is particularly rewarding when staff, pupils or parents who have not experienced Catholic education prior to coming to this school comment on the positive effects of our ethos.
Last night was the year 11 Prom which was excellent. The students looked fabulous, an absolute credit to us all and it was a genuinely pleasant evening for all concerned.
Looking ahead to next week there will be record numbers of potential year 12 students participating in Taster Day on Wednesday and on Thursday we welcome the new year 7s during the day and their parents in the evening. Then on Friday we will have the swimming gala.
Well done to Jonathon Mok in year 10 whose success in the 100m sprint at Leamington on 13th of June which led to him representing Warwickshire in the Mason trophy at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham last Saturday.
I wish you all a pleasant weekend.
St Thomas More School is committed to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
